You are buying a Cal Spa 7000 or 9000 Heater M7 foam type Sensor. This Sensor comes with the wire, Connector, and The foam sensor. It DOES NOT include the tube, the tube side mount or the pull ties. When this sensor is bad it will generally cause a SN Code on balboa M7 Systems. See the Video for more information. Although the sensor in the video is the screw in style the diagnostics are the same...
Question.. Why is my spa showing an OH Code but the water is not Hot?
Not sure exactly where to guide you without more information but I think this is what you need to know. The reason the water was cooler than the 110 is one of 2 things. You obviously have a M7 system meaning it has two sensors like you see here in both ends of the tube. If the pump is not working correctly on this system it still fires the heater and bases the continuation of heat on the temperature raise between the two sensors verifying water movement. The Controller does not know if there is water in the system or not and uses this test to prove water movement instead of using a pressure switch like the older systems did. After the heater is fired if there is no temperature raise then the system sees that as a problem and stops for a few minutes and fires again to see if there is water movement. If this heater firing happens enough times in a row the water temperature in the tube will keep getting higher eventually giving an OH code and shutting itself down until you reset it. I said all that to say this, If the pump is not operating correctly then the cause of your issue is pump related not sensor related because the sensors did their job in showing the high temp and the code. So you need to look into why the pump is erratic. Another thing that can cause an OH code is a high filter cycle setting but that usually only happens when it is hot outside or the tub is inside a room. You should never have a higher than F2 filter cycle during hot ambient weather. Hope this helps.
