Description

Terminal Block Spade Cluster Jumper

Repair Solution for Damaged Circuit Board Terminal Blocks

This Terminal Block Spade Cluster Jumper is designed to solve a common and frustrating problem: a damaged or burned terminal block on a spa control board where a replacement terminal block will no longer make proper electrical contact.

When a terminal slot is too far gone to accept a new terminal block, this jumper allows you to safely transfer power using a spade cluster connection, restoring proper amperage flow without replacing the entire board.

What This Part Does

Most spa control boards use clustered spade connections—especially on the Red AC (Line) side—to distribute high amperage evenly. At full load, many boards can draw up to 50 amps, which requires multiple spade connections working together, not just one or two.

This jumper allows you to:

  • Bypass a damaged terminal block slot

  • Recreate a proper spade cluster connection

  • Safely distribute amperage across multiple spades

  • Restore reliable power transfer to the board

How It’s Used

Red AC (Line) – Preferred Application

  • Most boards label this clearly as “Red AC”

  • Typically uses three spade connections in a cluster

  • This jumper provides extra spades to recreate that cluster

  • If a white jumper wire is present, it can be removed and relocated to the extra spade on this jumper

Best practice:
✅ Use all three spades on the cluster for proper amperage handling.

Black AC (Line) – Not Ideal, But Possible

  • Often only has one or two spades available

  • In these cases, the jumper can be doubled by:

    • Sliding one connector onto the extra spade

    • Then attaching both to the two available board spades

⚠️ Important:
This works in a pinch, but three spades are always preferred for high-load applications.

Why This Matters

Using too few connections on a high-amperage circuit can lead to:

  • Overheating

  • Arcing

  • Terminal failure

  • Board damage

This jumper helps spread the electrical load properly, reducing stress on the board and extending its life.

Key Features

  • Designed for spa control board terminal block repairs

  • Ideal for burned or damaged terminal block slots

  • Supports high-amperage applications

  • Allows proper spade cluster configuration

  • Helps avoid unnecessary control board replacement

Technician Notes

  • Intended for experienced spa technicians

  • Always verify amperage requirements

  • Ensure tight, clean connections

  • Inspect surrounding wiring and spades for heat damage
